玫瑰茄为锦葵科植物玫瑰茄的共萼。又名洛花神、烙花神、烙神花、洛神花等，1体轻，质脆。气微清香，味酸。我国福建、台湾、广东、海南、广西和云南南部引人栽培。原产于东半球热带地区，现全世界热带地区均有栽培。

具有清热解渴、帮助消化、利尿消水肿、养血活血、养颜美容、消除宿醉，具有促进新陈代谢，清凉解渴，振奋精神，食而有味、抑制喉咙发炎的效果，感冒或嗓子疼时喝了可以减轻症状。此外还能消除疲倦，改善便秘，对皮肤粗糙，肥胖都有帮助。洛神花中含有的维生素C、接骨木三糖苷、柠檬酸等营养成份，有益于调节和平衡血脂，增进钙质吸收，有益于调节和平衡血脂，增进钙质吸收，促进儿童发育，促进消化等。
